Collaboration between Fred Laird (Earthing Society, Tara Bulba, Empty House) and Mike Vest (Bong, Lush Worker, 11Paranoias, Mienakunaru)
Artifacts & Uranium began life in spring of 2021 when Fred Laird and Mike Vest telegraphed over static covid airwaves about the possibility of working together. Vest dug deep into his sonic vault of drone for foundations that would help support the rhythms and exotic instrumentation Laird would add like a Japanese Shoji constructed on the remains of a medieval dungeon. Not using any particular inspiration but going with gut feeling of whatever feels right, layer after layer was created over a 2 week period resulting in a 3 track album of krautathonic heaviness.

"If you’re a long-term fan of one or more of the participating groups or of modern acid rock in general, you won’t need much convincing to add this gem to your collection. But even if you’re completely unfamiliar with this whole scene, yet interested in dipping your toes into the wide world of spaced-out guitar music, I would highly recommend this idealized ISS homage as a gateway experience to the genre."
